Frequently Asked Questions

You’ll find answers to common questions about your stay at Coed Llydan below, including bookings, arrival information and what’s provided during your visit.

Booking & Availability

When can I visit?
Our current availability, changeover days and any booking restrictions can be found on our Book Now page.

Arrival & Access

What time is check-in?
Your check-in time is 3pm on your arrival day.

What time is check-out?
Your check-out time is 10am on your departure day.

How is the cottage accessed?
Coed Llydan is a rural property located on a quiet single track road with regular passing places. It is accessible with a normal sized car or van.
If you are arriving in snowy or icy conditions, please be aware Trefriw is situated on a steep hill so you may benefit from winter tyres or a 4x4.

Where do I park?
There is private parking available for two cars at the cottage.

Is the cottage accessible by public transport?
While it would technically be possible to arrive at Coed Llydan by public transport, we would not recommend relying on it when staying here or anywhere in this part of North Wales.
Please also be aware that, due to our rural location, there is limited (or no) access to taxis and takeaway food deliveries.

During Your Stay

Are you dog friendly?
Yes. You can find more information about bringing your dog on our Dogs Welcome page. This includes details of our dog rules, about the enclosed garden and its fencing, and nearby livestock.

Is there Wifi or mobile phone signal?
The cottage benefits from high speed fibre broadband direct to the property.
Depending on your network provider, there is limited or no mobile phone signal. If your phone supports WiFi calling, we recommend activating this setting during your stay.

Is there a hot tub?
Yes, there is a wood-fired hot tub in the garden for guests’ enjoyment.
Wood-fired hot tubs are lovely things, but they do require a little patience to get them going efficiently, and typically take around three to four hours of active tending to heat.
We will provide guidance on how to use the hot tub ahead of your stay. Please be aware that we are unable to preheat the hot tub for your arrival or heat it for you during your stay.

Is Wood, Kindling & Charcoal Provided?
A generous starter supply of wood and kindling is provided for the wood burner, hot tub and firepit. Additional supplies are available to purchase from us (subject to availability).
If you would like to use the firepit as a barbecue, charcoal is not provided. It can usually be purchased from the local supermarket (subject to seasonal availability), or you may bring it with you.

Is there an EV charger?
There is a Type 2, 7.4kW EV charger located in the private parking area at the cottage. The charger is untethered, so you will need to bring your own cable.
There is currently no charge for using the EV charger, although this is subject to change at our discretion.

Is there a washing machine or tumble dryer?
Please be aware there is no washing machine or tumble dryer at the property, due to the size of the cottage.
A 24-hour return laundry service may be available by prior arrangement and subject to an additional charge.
There is an indoor drying area for wet outdoor clothes and boots.

What’s Included

Do you provide towels?
Yes. Luxurious spa-quality bath sheets and hand towels are provided for your stay.
Dog towels are also available for those that enjoy a dip in the local rivers and lakes, or that get caught in the occasional bout of wet Welsh weather.
If you are planning on wild swimming in Llyn Gerionydd (a short walk or drive away), or heading to the beaches at Conwy or Llandudno further along the coast, please bring your own outdoor towels.

Do you provide toiletries?
Yes. Just in case you have forgotten something, we include a small selection of toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.

What’s in your welcome pack?
We want you to be able to arrive, put the kettle on, and not have to head straight back out in search of the essentials at local shops.
To help with this, we provide tea, coffee and a small bottle of milk on arrival. You will also find a selection of kitchen basics including salt, pepper, cooking oil, washing up supplies and dishwasher tablets.
